Upcoming Peace Bridge Commemorative Lightings


Span honors various holidays and regional causes

 

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge Authority) announced that the Peace Bridge will be illuminated in recognition of the following causes:

 

June 10, 11, 12       Fenian Raids (Black Rock Historial Society)    Green

June 15                   World Elder Abuse Awareness Day               Purple

June 17                   CDKL5                                                               Green

June 18                   Maternal Mental Health                                  Blue

June 27                   Deaf Blind Awareness Month                        Red, white, black

June 30                   New Yorkers Against Gun Violence              Orange

 

For specialty lighting occasions, the Peace Bridge is illuminated along the bridge arches, truss, and spine, and can include intermittent color animation. Light shows commence at dusk and continue until 1:00 a.m. (EST).

 

About the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a binational bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, and is a key international border crossing.
