(BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON) – The Peace Bridge Authority (PBA) is now making available to users of web-enabled cell phones the ability to check traffic conditions at bridges crossing the Niagara River on a new mobile website – mobile.peacebridge.com.

This new service is in addition to the live Peace Bridge webcams that travelers have been able to view on the website www.peacebridge.com. The website allows people to look for border crossing identification requirements, check traffic conditions to assist in avoiding border delays, and get directions to various destinations via the Peace Bridge.

(BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON) – The Peace Bridge Authority (PBA) has decided to honor its Chairman, Paul Koessler, who passed away this summer, by sponsoring a $5,000/year transportation/bridge engineering scholarship at the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB). The scholarship will run for 10 years.

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON. – The Board and Staff of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority are deeply saddened by the passing today of Chairman Paul Koessler.

Mr. Koessler was appointed to the Peace Bridge Authority (PBA) in November, 2000 and served the Authority with great distinction right up until the time of his passing.

Peace Bridge Design to Change - Environmental considerations result in recommended 567 ft high two-tower cable stay bridge being dropped in favor of a lower profile bridge. Project slated to begin construction in late 2009.

(BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON) - Background: Two and a half years ago a bi-national design jury selected a 567 ft. high, two-tower cable stay bridge, designed by Christian Menn, as the recommended bridge for the Peace Bridge’s capacity expansion project. The City of Buffalo, Town of Fort Erie, and the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority all concurred and it was the recommended alternative carried in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for agency review and public comment. The DEIS was issued in September 2007.

(BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON) – Paul Koessler has been elected Chairman of Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority.

Mr. Koessler is active on a number of civic, charitable and community boards, as well as privately held corporations. He was the former president of Alphagraphics, a provider of print related and digital publishing services for businesses worldwide.

Peace Bridge Tolls Move to Currency Parity
