Peace Bridge to offer travel free of charge

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge Authority) announced that it will not charge tolls on Friday, December 25, 2015, in celebration of the Christmas holiday. The toll-free period will be in effect for 24 hours, beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Christmas morning and ending at 12:00 a.m. on December 26, 2015.

 

“We are happy to continue the tradition of offering free travel between Canada and the United States on the Christmas holiday,” said Ron Rienas, general manager of the Peace Bridge. “On the night of December 25th, the Peace Bridge will also be illuminated in festive colors to recognize the holiday season.”

About the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a binational bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, and is a key international border crossing.
