Cross Often? Make it Simple, Use NEXUS!
NEXUS expedites the border clearance process for low-risk, pre-approved travelers into Canada and the United States.
What is the benefit?
Membership saves you time by allowing you to use a dedicated Customs inspection lane while traveling back and forth between Canada and the United States. Your NEXUS identification card also complies with the U.S. Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) requirements that went into effect June 1, 2009, which allow only a passport or other secure travel document as acceptable forms of identification for U.S. and Canadian citizens seeking entry into the United States. Children 18 and under who are U.S. or Canadian citizens are exempt and only need to show proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. Please note that the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge provides dedicated NEXUS service for Canadian-bound travelers only, while the Rainbow Bridge provides NEXUS service exclusively for United States-bound travelers.
