Addition of designated lanes to improve summer travel for NEXUS users
BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today the NEXUS Niagara campaign team – consisting of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA), Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)announced that Canada and the United States (U.S.) are delivering on key Beyond the Border Action Plan commitments related to joint Trusted Traveller and Trusted Trader programs, including the official opening of second NEXUS lane for expedited passage at the Peace Bridge port of entry in Fort Erie, Ontario.
"A second NEXUS lane at the Canadian Plaza will help to minimize bridge wait times and improve the flow of traffic and trade at the Canada-U.S. border,” said Ron Rienas, general manager of the PBA. “The addition of a second NEXUS lane is part of ongoing improvements on both sides of the border to enhance travel experience at one of the busiest land crossings, in time for the summer season’s anticipated increase in traffic.”
Peace Bridge Canada-bound traffic will now have a second designated NEXUS lane Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday and all holidays from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
