BUFFALO, NY/NIAGARA FALLS, ON – Today regional transportation, tourism and security organizations announced the launch of a collaborative planning initiative to help coordinate border traffic management during the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship tournament being held in Buffalo, NY, from Dec. 26, 2017 through Jan. 5, 2018. Participants in this effort include the Peace Bridge Authority, Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, Pegula Sports and Entertainment, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Canada Border Services Agency, Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition, Ontario Motor Coach Association, Visit Buffalo Niagara and various U.S. and Canadian elected officials.

 

   Pedestrian and Bicyclist Crossings


BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Due to ongoing construction the Peace Bridge is closed to pedestrians and bicyclists until spring 2019.

A shuttle service will be provided for those with proper border crossing identification between the hours of 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM.

 

   All Traffic Lanes on Peace Bridge to be Open for Summer Season

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today, leaders from the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) and Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) called for reforms to improve the NEXUS program, the bi-national trusted traveler program that aims to expedite border crossings.

 

No Tolls on Christmas Day at the Peace Bridge

 

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge Authority) is pleased to announce that it will not charge tolls on Sunday, December 25, 2016, in celebration of the Christmas holiday. The toll-free period will be in effect for 24 hours beginning at 12 AM Christmas morning.

 

     Peace Bridge Authority Announces Lane Closure
Beginning November 15, 2016 Through May 15, 2017

 Authority calls on elected officials and U.S. and Canadian federal governments to minimize related traffic impacts by advocating for adequate Customs staffing levels during construction period

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) announced that the Peace Bridge will be reduced to two lanes between November 15, 2016 and May 15, 2017, in order to accommodate construction related to the ongoing $100 million Peace Bridge rehabilitation. In addition, the Authority has advised U.S. and Canadian government officials that any traffic impacts can be mitigated by ensuring proper inspection lane availability and Customs staffing levels during the lane closure period.
